لقد تفضّل المرحوم د. سيمون سيلفرمان ومنح معهد كوهين كاتدرائيّة على اسمه، وغاية هذه الكاتدرائيّة تمكين المعهد سنويًّا من دعوة باحث ضيف ذي اسم عالمي كي يشارك في نشاطات المعهد ويثريها. وفي العادة، فإنّ مدّة إقامة الباحثين الضّيوف، الذين يمكثون في المعهد في إطار الكاتدرائيّة على اسم سيلفرمان، هي ستّة أسابيع، يقوم خلالها هؤلاء الضّيوف بتدريس الطلاب والباحثين وإرشادهم في مجالات لا تصنّف عادة ضمن اهتمامات المعهد. ويذكر أنّ المرحوم البروفسور برنارد كوهين كان أوّل باحث يحلّ ضيفًا على المعهد في إطار كاتدرائية سيلفرمان، وكان ذلك في العام 1984. ومنذ ذلك الحين يحظى المعهد بزيارات عديدة يقوم بها باحثون رائدون. القائمة التالية تشمل جميع هؤلاء الباحثين الضيوف مرتّبين أبجديًّا:
