Dr. Ahmad IghbariahSenior Scholar

Dr. Ahmad Ighbariah is a senior lecturer at The Cohn Institute for the History and Philosophy of Sciences and Ideas and The Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies. His main area of interest is Islamic culture with special focus on ethnic and religious groups that contributed to the establishment and development of sciences like philosophy, theology (Kalam), logic and others. He had translated into Hebrew al-Farabi's Opinions of the People of the Virtuous City (Tel Aviv, 2007) a work that considered by many as the culmination of political philosophy in Islam from a universal point of view. Apart from classical Islamic culture Dr. Ighbariah also interested in modern Arab thought and its relation with western thought, also he interested in Arabic literature, especially within the context of Israeli-Palestinian conflict after 1948.
