The School of Philosophy

 

The School of Philosophy is a new framework for advanced studies, research and various academic activities in the different fields of philosophical thought. The school was established in 1999, since then it coordinates the philosophical and interdisciplinary activities in Tel Aviv University. It provides an official framework for both M.A. and Ph.D students. In addition, the school encourages philosophical research in a variety of philosophical areas, deals with the development of studying programs and interdisciplinary research, organizes conferences, integrative seminars, workshops, issues philosophical publications etc.

The School of Philosophy accommodates for the academic frameworks wherein regular philosophical activity is taking place: the Department of Philosophy, the Department of Jewish philosophy, the Institute for the History and Philosophy Sciences and Ideas and the Graduate Program for Philosophy, Religion and Culture Studies in the Department of Asian Studies. The school also includes faculty members from other faculties who’s research and teaching concerns philosophy — The Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, The Faculty of the Arts, The school of Education and in various departments of The Faculty of Exact Sciences and The Faculty of Life Sciences.

Admission Requirements: Graduate studies are carried out within the various departments. Students are admitted according to the admission requirements of each department.
