Maya Hauptman

Maya Hauptman is a researcher affiliated with the Department of French Studies at the University of Haifa. Her dissertation, supervised by Robert Elbaz, and accepted for publication at Publisud, focuses on "The influence of power and traditional society on the individual in the work of Tahar Benjelloun". A second book on Tahar Benjelloun, including essays presented in international conferences will be published at Mellen press. She has written articles on Tahar Ben Jelloun, Alain Bosquet and Aharon Appelfeld. She specializes in studies on immigration, identity and mental health in situations of oppression. Her works also include the women status, slavery, exploitation, corruption, and the post colonial discourse in French literature and cinema . She is currently counducting a research in discourse analysis in the work of Tahar Ben Jelloun.
