Quoting extensively from his correspondence and based on showing excerpts from video interviews of his colleagues, the talk recalls some episodes from John von Neumann's life, beginning with his early education in Budapest, Hungary, and ending with his last actions in Washington, U.S.A. Some general characteristic features of von Neumann's scientific work are pointed out, with more details on his views on quantum theory.
